Marie Edith Jean, President
As the one who envisioned this organization, Marie Edith Jean took it upon herself to ensure that the purpose of the organization is respected and upheld by all of its members. It is her faith in the beauty of the Haitian culture, and her love for its diversity that pushes her to continue teaching the dances, songs, history, and poetry. It is her hope that Tonel Lakay, Inc. will persist as an institution where talent, discovery, individuality, friendship, and education unite in the heart of every member.
Gladys Christophe, Vice President
A health professional, writer, and mother as well, Gladys Christophe takes it upon herself to ensure that the goals of the organization are always a priority, executed in every aspect of the dance company.
Ketly Guillaume, Secretary
Ketly Guillaume, also a mother, felt it important to donate her skill, energy, and time to the organization. Aside from performing secretarial duties, she is one of two seamstresses in the organization, designing and making all of the beautiful costumes worn by our dancers and drummers since Tonel Lakay's inception.
Wilda Mentor, Treasurer
Also a seamstress of Tonel Lakay, Inc., Wilda Mentor found it necessary that children have a place to learn and grow. Well-versed in Haiti's history, aside from her duties as treasurer, she teaches the meaning behind the dances and rhythms that the children are exposed to.
